Origin
The “Alter Rebstock” is one of Johanneshof Reinisch’s great classics and is made from St. Laurent, Zweigelt, and Blaufränkisch grapes harvested from—as the name suggests—old vines. That said, we should mention that while the vines yielding fruit for the “Alter Rebstock” aren’t exactly the oldest we have, but on average, they have already had a good 40 years to develop—enough to produce grapes with dense aroma and lively minerality.
Vinification and Ageing
To enhance the fruitiness and soft harmony, we age this wine in large wooden barrels.
Tasting Note
Rich in nuances with cherry and wild berry aromas. Smooth and harmonious.
